• What Does a Polycule Intensive Look Like?

Intensives are longer, more immersive sessions than standard weekly therapy. Depending on your needs and size of your polycule, we can design:

    • Half-day intensives (e.g., 3–4 hours with breaks).
    • Full-day intensives (e.g., 5–6 hours with breaks and a lunch interval).
    • Multi-day formats for polycules doing deeper repair or major restructuring.
  • A typical intensive may include:

    • Pre-Intensive Assessment: Brief individual and/or smaller-group meetings and questionnaires to understand each person’s perspective and goals. All Intensives start with a minimum of 3-hour assessment. These are conducted during or prior to the intensive. At the assessment, I meet with all members of a relationship system (couple, family, polycule, etc.) to understand their challenges and gather information about the history of the relationship. During the second part of the assessment, I meet with individuals alone to collect information about each person’s concerns, relationship history, and family history.
    • Opening & Agreements: Clarifying what everyone hopes to get from the day, and setting up safety, pacing, and communication guidelines.
    • Mapping the Polycule: Exploring roles, connections, histories, and pressure points within the relationship network.
    • Deep-Dive Work: Structured conversations and exercises to unpack key conflicts, misunderstandings, and emotional themes.
    • Skill-Building: Practical tools for communication, repair, and ongoing conflict management tailored to your polycule.
    • Intensive Therapy & Integration: Targeted treatment and select activities tailored to your relationship's needs combined with follow-up (during or post intensive) designed to help you process, stabilize, and apply the insights gained during an intensive
    • Post-Intensive Follow-Up & Next Steps: Specific follow-up plans, agreements, and suggestions for ongoing support.
