Personalized Coaching for Your Personal, Creative, and Professional Growth

Let's understand and build a positive, empowered future that invites joy and meaning in your life.

You might be thinking that some of the areas of life that coaching can help with can also be approached in therapy. There are some elements of both coaching and therapy that differentiate each other and instances where one service is recommended over the other. For those that reach out for coaching services, I am happy to explore the pros and cons of each helping relationship/modality.

How Coaching Differs from Therapy — and Why It Might Be Right for You

While coaching and therapy can sometimes address similar areas of life—such as relationships, motivation, or personal growth—they are fundamentally different in their purpose, structure, and scope. Therapy is designed to diagnose and treat mental health conditions, and is regulated by strict licensing laws, meaning therapists can only work with clients in the states where they are licensed.

Coaching, on the other hand, is a goal-oriented, action-focused process that supports individuals and couples in making meaningful changes in their lives. Whether you want to improve your career, strengthen your relationships, or enhance your overall well-being, coaching focuses on practical steps and achievable outcomes—often within just a few months. Unlike therapy, it does not involve diagnosing mental illness or reprocessing trauma, and it typically feels less intensive.

One major advantage of coaching is accessibility. Coaches are not bound by state licensing laws, which means I can work with clients from anywhere in the U.S. or globally. This makes coaching especially valuable in areas where therapy options may be limited or unavailable. This is specifically helpful for creatives that tour or spend time on set around the world while working on action-oriented change-- don't lose access to your support! Through telehealth, I’m able to offer relationship and individual coaching to clients around the world.

As a coach, my approach is integrative and evidence-informed. I use tools like behavioral analysis, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, psychoeducation, and narrative techniques to help clients gain clarity, create meaningful goals, and take action. In our work, we’ll explore how past experiences may be influencing your current behavior and relationships, while focusing on how to move forward—without needing to re-tell trauma stories.

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just ready for change, coaching can help you gain perspective, set new goals, and find a renewed sense of purpose. And if significant mental health concerns arise during coaching, I’ll help you determine whether therapy might be the more appropriate fit/modality, and help you with referrals and next steps.

Whether individually or in your relationship, coaching can support you in creating more peace, motivation, and connection in your life. If you’re not in crisis but want to grow, change, or simply gain insight, coaching may be exactly what you need.

"I was hesitant to start coaching, it is an expensive commitment and I feared acknowledging our issues might make them worse. My partner and I are so glad we decided to go through with it. I can’t stress enough how worthwhile Ingrid's coaching is. She provided valuable tools and a professional, safe, and grounding space where my partner and I had the confidence to address our needs."

Relationship, Couples, and Sex Coaching: Accessible, Goal-Oriented, and Transformative

Telehealth makes it possible for individuals, couples, and partners around the world to access relationship and sex coaching from the comfort of home. Whether you're looking to improve communication, enhance intimacy, reconnect through shared joy and novelty, or strengthen long-term relationship satisfaction, coaching offers a practical, focused path forward.

Coaches can work with clients anywhere, which allows greater flexibility, especially for couples living in different locations, living life on tour/set, or those in underserved areas across the world. I have worked with couples in Amsterdam, Singapore, Sydney, and elsewhere in between.

Coaching is not couples therapy, but it can help you gain clarity about what’s happening in your relationship and how to move forward. Relationship coaching is a specialized form of life coaching that supports people in building healthier, more fulfilling personal connections. It’s ideal for individuals or partners who want to grow together, deepen intimacy, process transitions, grieve losses, or revitalize their connection. You can attend alone, with a partner, or in any combination that fits your unique relational structure.

We start with a direct and practical approach—diving into your relationship story to uncover patterns, clarify communication struggles, and address immediate concerns like emotional regulation and misalignment. Coaching is forward-looking and results-oriented, which means you may begin to experience growth and change within just a few hours of work together.

Each coaching package is tailored to your emotional and sexual style, relationship goals, and specific concerns. Together, we’ll identify what you want to change, the obstacles in your way, and a plan to overcome them. Many people don’t have spaces where they can speak freely—and be heard—about deeply personal topics like sexuality, emotional needs, or communication breakdowns. Coaching offers that space.

My style as a coach is straightforward, honest, and compassionate. I’m known for being direct but also validating, nonjudgmental, insightful, and sometimes even humorous. Coaching is focused and efficient—designed to get to the root of persistent challenges and create meaningful, lasting change.

Over time, coaching can help you become a more connected, respectful, and supportive team. Research shows that intentional relationship work can shift beliefs, reduce emotional reactivity, and improve both how you think and how you relate. Coaching helps you let go of what’s holding you back—and move toward what matters most.

Non-Monogamy & Open Relationship Coaching: Creating Relationship Agreements, Jealousy vs. Comperson, and Connection

Non-monogamy coaching offers a supportive, structured space for people navigating open, and/or polyamorous relationships who are looking for practical guidance and forward movement. This approach is more directive than traditional psychotherapy, blending lived experience with professional expertise to help you address the unique dynamics of consensual non-monogamy. Coaching is typically short-term and goal-oriented, focusing on actionable tools and strategies, while psychotherapy tends to be longer-term, more emotionally exploratory, and holistic in scope. For individuals—whether partnered or solo, hierarchical or non-hierarchical—coaching can help you work through specific challenges such as setting and maintaining boundaries, navigating jealousy, or building clarity around your relational values. Individual coaching can also expand to partner coaching, and can include the option to transition into deeper therapeutic work if desired.

For those in shared relationship structures—whether couples, triads, polycules, or other configurations—partner coaching provides a collaborative space to strengthen communication and alignment. Together, we focus on areas like creating sustainable relationship agreements, addressing differences in desire or expectations, and building skills for navigating complexity with care and intention. Partner coaching typically unfolds over 3–9 sessions on a weekly or every-other-week basis, offering both structure and flexibility as you work toward your goals. If you find that you’d benefit from more ongoing or in-depth support, transitioning into relationship therapy is often an option. You’re welcome to book a free consultation to explore whether this approach feels like the right fit for you.

Creating an open relationship agreement—especially within queer, non-monogamous dynamics—often involves getting very clear and specific about expectations, communication, and care. While every relationship is unique, there are several “technical” components that help transform a general understanding into something functional, sustainable, and consensual:

  • Structure & Relationship Design
  • Boundaries vs. Agreements vs. Rules
  • Sexual Health Protocols
  • Communication Cadence & Transparency
  • Time Management & Scheduling Logistics
  • Emotional Agreements & Jealousy Navigation
  • Metamour Relationships
  • Conflict Resolution Framework
  • Privacy, Disclosure & “Outness”
  • Power, Identity & Intersectionality Awareness
  • Flexibility & Revision Agreements
  • Exit & Transition Planning

At its core, a strong open relationship agreement isn’t just a list of permissions—it’s a living system built on clarity, consent, and ongoing negotiation. In queer non-monogamous spaces especially, there’s often an emphasis on intentionally designing relationships rather than defaulting to inherited norms, which makes these technical pieces all the more important.
